Growing up rural surroundings, I was always aware of the horizon line. Ever visible. Dotted with farm houses, barns and woods. The Horizon was ever present. It provided comfort, a familiar boundry to my world.
But revisiting the rural farmlands of Ohio, the horizon line was harder to find. It had been replaced with housing developments, strip malls, and agro-industry complexes. My horizon was now only a memory.
The Farmland series is an exploration of perspective and open space with the juxtaposition iconic architecture, the once familiar and commonplace is new subject to the tricks of memory and the dream-like filters of time and distance.
